From demijohns to something more
It started with a few friends, a handful of demijohns, and a passion that refused to stay small. Those early batches were about more than making wine. They were about good meals, laughter, experimentation, and the satisfaction of creating something together.
Curiosity turned into a commitment. Demijohns gave way to barrels, and those early experiments eventually became Quiet Corner Winery, on a historic horse farm in Hampton, Connecticut.

We go find great ones.
People often ask me, “Where are the vines?” My answer is simple: I’m not tied to one vineyard. I have the freedom to seek out grapes from wine regions around the world.
To me, great winemaking starts the way a great meal does: with thoughtfully chosen ingredients. That might mean Malbec from Chile, Pinotage from South Africa, or grapes from Italy or California. Each region brings its own character. My job is to respect it—and bring that character to life here in Connecticut.

The real work happens here.
Once the grapes arrive, the decisions are mine: fermentation, blending, aging, and knowing when a wine is ready. Some days are long. Some nights are even longer. That's part of doing the work myself.
Winter often finds me at the tasting bench with classic rock playing, sampling barrels and making the small adjustments that shape the finished wine. No two lots are exactly alike, and I don't believe they should be.
I make wines I want to share over a meal: balanced, expressive, and honest about where they came from.
